On Wednesday, August 12, Hyundai Hope On Wheels® awarded Carolinas HealthCare System’s Levine Children’s Hospital with the $50,000 Hyundai Impact Award. The award was presented to Dr. Javier Oesterheld for his proven track record in providing excellent patient care to families affected by pediatric cancer and to support his continued efforts. Levine Children’s Hospital has received $475,000 in funding from Hope On Wheels since 2010.

The award was officially presented during the Hope On Wheels signature Handprint Ceremony at Levine Children’s Hospital. At the ceremony, children treated at Levine Children’s Hospital were given the unique experience of dipping their hands in colorful paint and placing their handprints on a white Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, the official vehicle of Hope On Wheels, to commemorate their brave journeys at Levine Children’s Hospital.

Hyundai and its dealers joined the fight against pediatric cancer in 1998.
