On June 5, more than 185 participants gathered at the Sandra & Leon Levine Jewish Community Center for the 5th Annual Levine JCC Kids Triathlon, presented by the Charlotte Knights. Prior to the event, participants raise funds through bake sales, neighborhood friends and family, yard sales and more! The event raised over $90,000 for pediatric rehabilitation services at Levine Children’s Hospital and the Adaptive Sports and Adventures Program (ASAP) at Carolinas Rehabilitation – a program that helps adults and children with physical disabilities to develop skills that lead to an active lifestyle.

The fundraising total included a $20,000 grant from The Leon Levine Foundation, which the Kids Tri received after meeting (and exceeding) a challenge goal of raising $70,000.

Former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad attended the event and cheered on participants, which included many ASAP athletes and children of all ages and athletic abilities.

A special thanks goes to lead sponsors: The Charlotte Knights, Parent Financial, Precor, UTC Aerospace Systems, and Mann Travels. Other generous supporters include Hanger Clinic, Skechers, UCS, SunTrust On Up, Bayada, Luxury Charlotte Homes – The Eli Magids Group, Valvoline, Brownlee Jewelers and SouthPark Baseball.
