About the Professional Advisory Council

The Professional Advisory Council was established in 2019 to support Atrium Health Foundation’s planned giving program. The Council, which is currently made up of 17 distinguished professionals, offers financial and estate planning expertise to individuals who are interested in making a legacy gift to one of the nearly 300 charitable funds established at the Foundation. Each Council member serves a three-year term and acts as an important advocate for Atrium Health throughout our communities.

Introducing PAC Member: Michael Crisp

Michael “Mike” Crisp grew up just outside Charlotte, in Gastonia, NC. Following graduation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for both undergraduate and law school, Mike jumped head first into the Charlotte professional world. With over 20 years of experience working with Charlotteans on their estates, trusts, corporate businesses, and taxation, Mike has a deep understanding of the heart of our local community, including Atrium Health. Mike describes his interest in supporting Atrium Health: “Besides having been a patient myself at various times, several members of my family have received treatment for serious illnesses at Atrium Health. I also am fortunate to enjoy friendships and professional relationships with Atrium health care providers and other staff.” Business North Carolina Magazine named Mike as one of the “North Carolina Legal Elite,” and a “North Carolina Super Lawyer” in estate planning and probate. These specific areas of expertise bring immense value to Atrium Health Foundation’s Professional Advisory Council.

Personally, Mike has been and continues to be a pillar in his community as a volunteer. He currently sits on the boards of a number foundations, including the Professional Advisory Council. He has also offered his insight on estate and financial giving for local foundations and those related to his alma mater, UNC Chapel Hill. Joining our Professional Advisory Council made sense to Mike because, “I have great confidence in the Atrium model of healthcare delivery and have the highest regard for the exemplary services it makes available to members of our community.”
