Charlotte Knights Hit a Home-Run for Pediatric Rehabilitation at Levine Children’s

Following a generous commitment of $173,000 made in August 2018 by the Charlotte Knights, Levine Children’s Hospital celebrated the opening of a newly-renovated fourth floor Rehabilitation playroom in December. The baseball-themed, therapeutic rehab space is specially designed to optimize the comfort and recovery of pediatric rehabilitation patients who are working to advance their rehab goals—while having some fun in the process. The playroom now features a baseball diamond, a Charlotte skyline mural as seen from the Knights’ field in Uptown, images of players, and a mini Clubhouse complete with lockers. This latest gift from the Charlotte Knights to Levine Children’s Hospital marks the continuation of a remarkable 16-year partnership between the team and Atrium Health.

Secret Santa Radiothon Raises Over $153,000 to benefit Levine Children’s Hospital

In December, the halls of Levine Children’s Hospital were decked with holiday cheer for the seventh annual Secret Santa Radiothon, presented by Morris-Jenkins. Beasley Media Group radio stations The New 103.7, K 104.7, Power 98 and V 101.9 took over the airwaves along with Kiss 95.1’s MRL Show, veteran hosts of the radiothon. Each station used its unique voice to encourage listeners to call-in and brighten the holidays for Levine Children’s patients. In addition to listeners who donated throughout the day, the Secret Santa radiothon inspired a generous matching gift made by Dewey Jenkins, owner of local heating and air conditioning company Morris-Jenkins and chair of the LCH Board of Ambassadors.
