On January 11, 2014, Carolinas HealthCare System’s very own Debra Plousha Moore (pictured), Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, competed in North Carolina Dance Theatre’s black tie fundraiser, Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte: A Gala Evening in White. Performing the salsa with partner Jordan Leeper, who is in his third year with North Carolina Dance Theatre, Ms. Plousha Moore competed with other local celebrities representing Duke Energy, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Novant Health, and Paul Simon Women.
Due to her participation in the fundraiser more than $28,000 was raised to benefit a Special Needs Fund administered through Carolinas HealthCare Foundation. The fund supports Carolinas Medical Center Community Clinics—outpatient clinics that provide much needed services for under-served populations in the region. Funds will support special transportation, housing and medical needs of patients and families treated at the clinics. Carolinas Medical Center Community Clinics include:
- Carolinas Medical Center Biddle Point
- Carolinas Medical Center Elizabeth
- Carolinas Medical Center Myers Park
- Carolinas Medical Center NorthPark
- Teen Health Connection
