The DeAngelo Williams Foundation and the Charlotte Knights came together on May 14 to show their support for women’s breast health. The day started with 53 Strong For Sandra, a breast cancer outreach event that provided mammography screenings and follow-up care, thanks to a generous gift of $10,000 from the DeAngelo Williams Foundation. Charlotte Radiology, in partnership with Carolinas HealthCare Foundation, offered its medical services to 53 women, free of charge. The program is designed to serve low-income, under/uninsured women from the greater Charlotte area.

Later that evening, the Charlotte Knights—donning pink jerseys—hosted their annual Pink Knights baseball game. Pink baseballs and jerseys worn by the Knights were auctioned off during the game, with proceeds benefiting the Carolinas Breast Cancer Fund. The Pink Knights baseball game and auction raised over $20,000 to support breast cancer programs and services at Levine Cancer Institute.
