Latin Radiothon “Milagros Para Los Niños” held by Norsan Media raised $113,000 for Levine Children’s Hospital
Thanks to generous community support, Radiothon “Milagros Para Los Niños” held by Norsan Media, and broadcast on La Raza 106.1 and Latina 102.3 from the Seacrest Studios at Levine Children’s Hospital, raised $113,000, which will help to fund critical equipment, services, research and charitable care to save and improve the lives of children in the Charlotte, N.C., area. La Raza 106.1 and Latina 102.3 listeners were moved by stories of hope shared by families of former and current patients from the Hispanic community. The record fundraising total of the 2016 Radiothon signifies the continued growth of the broadcast, which garnered a 21% increase in charitable contributions over last year’s fundraising total and has grown tremendously since the company’s partnership with Levine Children’s Hospital began in 2011. We are grateful to our partners at Norsan Media for their significant, long-standing support of patients and families served by Levine Children’s Hospital.
Highlights from the Radiothon (pictured):
“Milagros Para los Niños” Radiothon celebrated hospital supporters of all ages—including 7 year-old Amy, who collected donations at her school, Waddell Elementary, once again this year. (She even decorated her donation box, writing “Today for the kids, tomorrow for us!”).
The Medina Family was listening on the radio and drove to Levine Children’s Hospital to tell their hospital story-of-hope, and to donate. Aidyn Dail Romero Media is 4 years old and has been treated for a heart condition.
Manuel Rey (Senior Vice President, Fifth Third Bank; Carolinas HealthCare System Advisory Board Member) graciously issued a spontaneous fundraising challenge during the radiothon broadcast. Along with Norberto Sanchez (Founder and CEO of Norsan Media), Manuel personally matched contributions made by listeners during the 2pm broadcast, helping to generate $7,000 in donations in just one hour of the day-long radiothon.
