CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 16, 2020 – The 6th Annual Levine Children’s Gala took place virtually this year, raising more than half a million dollars to benefit patient programs at Levine Children’s Hospital. While we were unable to gather and celebrate this spring, Atrium Health’s dedicated supporters honored their commitments to our pediatric patients in a meaningful way. The virtual event was made possible by the generosity of many community sponsors, most notably, presenting sponsor PNC.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to each of our Gala sponsors – PNC, Genesys Global, Brighthouse Financial, Collins Aerospace, Office Environments, Rodgers Builders, The Beck Group, and Truist – for honoring their commitments to Levine Children’s Hospital.

This year’s Gala was scheduled to take place on March 28, 2020 inside the Atrium Health Dome, with more than 600 expected attendees. Just weeks before the premier fundraising event, Atrium Health Foundation made the difficult decision to transition the in-person celebration to an exclusively virtual event. For a two week period, beginning June 1, 2020, supporters were encouraged to bid virtually on a robust selection of auction items from local artists, restaurants, boutiques, small businesses, sports teams, and more.

Included in the virtual auction were five exquisite paintings from fine artists Paul Hastings, Marcy Gregg, Christina Dowdy, Adrian Chu Redmond, and Greg Barnes (pictured from left to right). Each year, this talented group of artists spends a day at Levine Children’s Hospital painting with young patients. The children create a masterpiece to display in their hospital rooms and the artists return home to create a special piece inspired by their time together, donating the artwork to the Levine Children’s auction. For just a short while, the children are able to take their minds off of treatments and surgeries and concentrate on the therapeutic movement of paint brush to canvas.

Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Hospital is a 234-bed hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina, located on the main campus of Carolinas Medical Center. It is the most comprehensive facility of its type between Atlanta, and Washington D.C., and is also home to the Ricky Hendrick Centers for Intensive Care, which support pediatric intensive and cardiovascular surgery patients.
