Cycle to the Sea – Charleston Goes the Distance for Athletes with Disabilities

This October marked the 2nd Annual Cycle to the Sea – Charleston ride, more than 10 cyclists covered a span of 240 miles from Charlotte, NC, to Charleston, SC, to raise funds for the Adaptive Sports & Adventures Program (ASAP) at Carolinas Rehabilitation.  Both able-bodied cyclists and hand-cyclists traveled in tandem with a clear purpose to support ASAP. This year, Cycle to the Sea – Charleston raised $80,000 to support ASAP’s mission to challenge and support individuals with physical disabilities in our community.

Special recognition and thanks goes to long-time ASAP and Cycle to the Sea participant, Brian Muscarella, for leading “Team Freak” to a commendable fundraising total of more than $33,500 between the two cycling events held this year.
