The 7th Annual Stiletto Sprint on September 16 brought together survivors, advocates, caregivers, and family and friends, to support those fighting ovarian cancer. Symphony Park at SouthPark was transformed into a sea of teal—the color signifying ovarian cancer awareness. In addition to the 70-yard sprints, this year’s event featured local vendors, a Survivors Boutique, raffle and silent auction.

WBTV anchor Micah Smith hosted the event, representing the news station’s longstanding commitment to the cause. The Stiletto Sprint began with a moment of silence, balloon release, and inspirational survivors’ walk to honor cancer survivors, as well as the memory of those lives lost to ovarian and other forms of gynecologic cancer.

Courage, hope, strength, and passion were prevalent at the emotional event, which raised over $100,000 for Levine Cancer Institute. Bissell Companies, TESARO, Teal Butterfly Challenge, Clovis Oncology, WBTV, Dr. Marie-Claire Marroum, and Stiletto Sprint committee members, volunteers, sponsors and supporters all contributed to the event’s success.
