Today Levine Children’s Hospital hosted football players from the University of Cincinnati and the University of North Carolina, who will face off in the 2013 Belk Bowl this Saturday in the Carolina Panthers’ Bank of America stadium. The two teams brightened the day for some of Levine Children’s Hospital’s patients by signing autographs, playing games, and broadcasting live to patients’ rooms from the Seacrest Studios on the first floor.

In addition, Levine Cancer Institute hosted the spouses of coaches from both teams this morning. Attendees enjoyed a tour and update on the Cancer Institute, as well as a presentation on cancer prevention and current research.
Carolinas HealthCare Foundation is grateful to Belk, Inc. for advancing cancer treatment and research across the Carolinas through a generous $50,000 donation to Levine Cancer Institute this year. Further, we thank Belk, Inc. and Charlotte Sports Foundation, organizers of the Belk Bowl 5K, for their commitment of $10,000 through this Saturday’s 5K run to support Levine Children’s Hospital.
