As Atrium Health’s trusted anesthesia provider, Scope Anesthesia of North Carolina works closely with care teams to deliver exceptional patient care. The company’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its patients extends beyond hospital walls and into our communities’ backyards as they continue to support the work of local charitable organizations, including philanthropic initiatives at Atrium Health Foundation.

Through Atrium Health’s annual employee giving campaign, “Atrium Health Gives,” Scope Anesthesia’s providers recently made their largest contribution to date – $42,000 to benefit the Women’s Health Services Advancement Fund at Atrium Health Foundation. This contribution will support the work of Dr. Suzanna Fox, Deputy Chief Physician and Medical Director of the Women’s Service Line, Medical Director of Eastover University OB/GYN and Vice Chairman at Atrium Health University City, funding important advancements within the service line.

“When I learned of the Atrium Health Gives campaign, the decision to participate was truly a no-brainer,” shared Tom Wherry, MD, President & CEO of Scope Anesthesia of North Carolina. “Community involvement is one of Scope Anesthesia of North Carolina’s core values and something that is, personally, very important to me. We encouraged our group to contribute to Women’s Health because we learned from Dr. Suzanna Fox that it was their first time being included in the campaign, and we realized how important it would be to help jump-start their fundraising efforts. As a group, we know what it’s like to be the newcomer. We were thrilled to contribute this year, and we look forward to participating in the years to come.”

We’d like to thank everyone at Scope Anesthesia who contributed in support of women’s care. This generous donation will help to expand research opportunities and fund programs and educational initiatives that improve access to care for all women.
