The Carolinas Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Endowment was established to sustain and enhance the comprehensive treatment, education, and research programs at Atrium Health’s Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders. Through philanthropic support, Atrium Health Foundation seeks to build a substantial endowment in order to support dedicated physical and speech therapy positions, patient counseling and support efforts, and translation research programs, in alliance with complementary and alternative medicine providers.

A second area supported by philanthropy is the RENEW Carolinas Parkinson’s Initiative (Research and Education in Neuro-Wellness), a community-based neuro-wellness program for people with Parkinson’s disease and a joint-initiative of Atrium Health’s Neurosciences Institute, Carolinas Rehabilitation, LiveWELL Health Center, and the YMCA. The RENEW program also includes healthy lifestyle management, which provides customized nutrition counseling and physical therapy to Parkinson’s patients.

To support these important areas within Atrium Health’s Neurosciences Institute, use our secure donation form and select the Carolinas Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Endowment from the drop-down menu.
