A message from the Caroline’s PEACH Foundation:

Dear friends,

Our lives were forever changed on the day our daughter Caroline – who was sweet as a peach – was diagnosed with an aggressive brainstem tumor. Instead of letting her cancer extinguish the light inside of her, she used it as an opportunity to care for and give to others while she still could.

Since her passing, each day we continue to live by Caroline’s words, “We must never be angry, and we must never have regrets.”

We are excited to launch our next chapter in Caroline’s PEACH Foundation by partnering with Atrium Health Foundation and Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Hospital to create Caroline’s PEACH DIPG Fund.  This fund will provide support to Dr. Giselle Sholler and the latest DIPG research she is conducting called the P.E.A.C.H. Protocol.  We hope you will join us as together we provide hope and novel scientific advancements for children and families battling DIPG.

With gratitude,

Caroline’s Parents

Caroline, or Peach as everyone called her, was a fierce champion of kids who were sick.  She would walk the halls of the pediatric hematology/oncology floors and look with compassion on children who were so very ill, often without hair—just like her.  Peach felt it was wrong that they should be sick and wanted to help.

Peach chose to enter a clinical trial and, at age 8, was asked to sign her own consent form for a brain tumor biopsy.  Being informed of the grave risk of life that she faced, she signed the form, put the pen down and looked up, saying, “Mommy, if this doesn’t help me, maybe it will help someone else.”

Please join with Caroline and all of us at Caroline’s PEACH and Levine Children’s as we continue to honor Caroline’s wish of helping others.  Would you consider helping these little ones with a gift?  There is no telling what we can accomplish if we take on the challenge together.
