A Word to Our Donors
At Atrium Health Foundation, we greatly value the support of our donors, your privacy and your trust. As part of our commitment to accountability and transparency, we wanted to share information about a cybersecurity event that recently occurred at one of our vendors.
In support of our philanthropic efforts, we – along with thousands of other non-profit, academic and health care entities across the world – use a relationship management software company called Blackbaud. Blackbaud recently notified us that they discovered a ransomware attack that impacted its client databases, including those belonging to Atrium Health Foundation. We store information about current and potential donors with Blackbaud, such as demographic information and giving history. It is important to note that we do not store any Social Security numbers nor credit card or bank account information with them and Blackbaud has no access to any of our systems.
Please know that we take this matter very seriously and have addressed the matter with Blackbaud’s representatives. Blackbaud has repeatedly confirmed that it has secured its systems, protected our information and is enhancing its security measures. You can learn more about what happened at Blackbaud at www.blackbaud.com/securityincident. If you have questions about how this may have impacted information we have about you, please call 704-355-4048.
Thank you for helping us fulfill our mission of inspiring transformational giving to improve health, elevate hope, and advance healing – for all. We are grateful for your generosity, which is making a difference in the lives of the patients we serve every day.
